Joseph Hoffman MD is a board-certified general ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive cataract surgery. Dr. Hoffman attended the University of Miami as an undergraduate. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL.
He finished his ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He is a board member of the Bascom Palmer alumni society and a past president of the Miami Ophthalmological Society Dr. Hoffman is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern School of Optometry, New England College of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, University of the Incarnate, InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, University of Montreal and University of Waterloo. He has helped in the training over 850 optometry students. He has also volunteered for many years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He continues to assist in the annual cataract surgery course for residents and fellows.
